Pin the Tongue on Derpy: Free Quirky & Fun Party Game Printable!
Hey there, party planners! Kinsey here. 🚀✨
Are you hosting a space-themed party, a monster bash, or just looking for a hilarious rainy-day activity? You have officially found the perfect game. Move over, donkeys and unicorns—it is Derpy’s time to shine!
This game takes the classic “Pin the Tail” concept and flips it on its head. Instead of a tail, your little guests will be blindfolded, spun around, and challenged to pin the world’s silliest tongue back into Derpy’s smiling mouth.
👽 Meet Derpy!
If you are wondering, “What exactly am I looking at?”—don’t worry, I thought the same thing! Derpy is our lovable, cosmic blue cat-creature with giant yellow eyes and a big, goofy smile, set against an awesome neon pink and purple galaxy background.
But the best part? The tongues! The printable tongues aren’t just pink shapes; they feature a funny little duck face holding a tiny sign that says “HELLO FRIEND”. It is wonderfully weird, and the kids are going to be obsessed.
📥 What’s Included in Your Free Download
We always make sure our FunLandJunior printables are high-resolution and parent-approved. Your free PDF includes two pages:
The Galactic Poster: A vibrant, 4K poster of Derpy in space, waiting for his tongue.
The “Hello Friend” Tongues: A full sheet of 9 perfectly sized, cut-out tongues featuring our little duck buddy, set on a clean white background to save your printer ink.
🛠️ Kinsey’s “Mom-Approved” Setup Tips
To make sure your game goes off without a hitch (and without ruining your living room walls!), here are my top setup secrets:
Go Big: Print the Derpy poster at your local copy shop at 18″ x 24″ so the kids have a nice, big target to aim for. You can print the sheet of tongues right at home!
Cardstock is Key: Print the tongues on heavy, white cardstock. Flimsy printer paper tears easily when blindfolded kids are trying to stick it to the wall.
The “Secret Name” Trick: Do not write the kids’ names on the front of the tongues! Instead, have them write their name on the back before their turn. It keeps the tongues looking cute for pictures when the game is over.
Painter’s Tape > Push Pins: Use a small rolled-up piece of painter’s tape on the back of each tongue. It’s safe for little fingers and won’t leave holes in your walls or the poster!
🐾 Need a Rescue Team for Your Next Party?
If your little ones are more into fire trucks and police cruisers than galactic cats, don’t worry—we’ve got you covered! Adventure Bay is basically on a continuous loop in our living room, so I made sure to create some high-resolution, totally free games for our favorite rescue pups, too.
Calling All Police Pups: Help our favorite German Shepherd find his missing police shield with our Pin the Badge on Chase printable!
I’m Fired Up!: If you have a clumsy but brave Dalmatian fan in the house, they will absolutely love our Pin the Badge on Marshall game.
Both of these come with ink-friendly badge sheets and look amazing when printed out as giant party posters!
